Briefly in English  

The Multicultural Centre of Lahti, known as Multi-Culti, is a meeting place and an activity center for both the immigrants and Finns. Multi-Culti is a place where people can get to know of different cultures and traditions by doing things together. One of the goals is to be part of Lahti´s immigration program.

It is open for all ages and nationalities. It works under the Lahti´s Youth department and has no membership or admission fees. Its principles are to be non-political and non-religious.

Multi-Culti was founded in 1995 there was a need of having a place where Finns and immigrants can meet and do things together.

Activity targets are to increase tolerance and internationality and to support immigrant’s integration.

Multi-Culti have one permanent worker. The function is based on volunteer work. With the assist and support of the worker the volunteers organize groups. The committee guides the whole function. The committee consists of volunteers.

Multi-Culti organize trips and different happenings.
You can check the happenings and groups here at Multi-Culti`s Internet pages under “Viikko-ohjelma”.

You can come to read newspapers in different languages, to play games and meet new people. Multi-Culti also have a small library and a room for kids to play in.

Multi-Culti is open from Monday to Thursday 10.00-16.00,
On Friday from 10.00-14.00.
Otherwise it’s open if needed.
